Role Overview

Life Veneration High School (LVHS) is seeking a proficient and dedicated English Teacher to join our esteemed Art Department. The ideal candidate will exhibit a passion for the English language and literature, with a commitment to fostering a stimulating learning environment. This full-time position, based in Ondo, offers the opportunity to inspire students and cultivate their love for reading, writing, and critical thinking.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and educational standards.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and creativity.
• Assess student progress through regular assignments, tests, and feedback, providing support to ensure their academic success.
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate interdisciplinary approaches and enhance the overall learning experience.
• Encourage students to engage with literature critically, promoting discussions that develop their analytical and interpretative skills.
• Organise extracurricular activities related to the English language and literature, such as reading clubs and writing competitions.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress to parents and guardians as required.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and methodologies.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field.
• A minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a secondary school setting is preferred.
• Possession of a valid teaching certificate or qualification recognised by the Nigerian Ministry of Education.
